Some matches:

This from MAX-Japan show:
  • MAX Royal Road Championship - Shinjiro Nakama (c) vs. Chris Ravenna

In the Royal Road Championship, it was Shinjiro Nakama versus Chris Ravenna in a hard-fought match. Ravenna had been on a roll as of late, but no one has been hotter of course than Shinjiro Nakama who has yet to lose in singles competition on the tour. Ravenna would keep up the pace, hoping to wear out Nakama and force him to chase him around the ring. When he would surprisingly catch Nakama for the Artikulo Uno, he would get a 1… 2… 2.99999 count and just barely miss the pin!

Nakama would battle back, finally getting his mitts on Ravenna and keeping him locked up in a clinch with thick, sternum caving knee strikes. Nakama would then hit the running knee strike and his high-angle German suplex for the 1… 2… 3-NO! A close fall indeed.

The two men would battle well past the twenty-minute mark, with Nakama’s bruised face seemingly swollen up like he had a peanut allergy and Ravenna’s chest bruised in a bluish discoloration. Nakama would manage to cross-block the Artikulo Uno and then hit a running knee strike once more and follow it up with the high-angle German suplex hold to pick up the 1-2-3 and make his V3 defense of the title.

After the match, Nakama would extend a hand to Ravenna as a show of respect, something we have yet to see of the big man. Arnold Cunningham seemed a bit perplexed, but as Nakama told Ravenna, “Again” we saw the Tirador nod in acceptance.

  • MAX Junior Heavyweight Championship - Eron “Lynx” Hunter (c) vs. Chris Ravenna

The match got started with the kind of chain-wrestling for which the MAX junior division has become famous. Ravenna wrenched Hunter’s arm, but the acrobatics of the latter saw him front roll onto the ground to break free, grab Ravenna’s arm and flip him onto his back! On the ground, we’d see the two men trade hammerlocks, and then a grounded headlock by Hunter would be countered with a headscissors that would once again flip the momentum of the ground game.

But Hunter would kick out of it and the two scrambled to their feet. The champ would bounce into the ropes and rebound, Ravenna would attempt a roundhouse kick and miss, as Hunter would springboard off the middle rope for a moonsault ~ but it was a little high ~ yet he turned it into a reverse DDT! Hunter would get a two-count as the fans remained impressed but worried at the outcome.

Hunter would keep up the action with a couple of quick elbow drops but then picking up Ravenna and throwing him into the corner. He’d get a running start, cartwheel, and attempt the elbow ~ success! Ravenna would stumble out as Hunter would rebound and ~ Ravenna would intercept him with a pele kick that sent the champ tumbling through the ropes to the apron! The challenger would go for the suplex to bring him back in… but Hunter reversed it and suplexed Ravenna to the outside, much to the horror of the crowd! Hunter would then ascend to the top rope and measure the distance… as Ravenna stumbled up to his feet… Hunter would front flip over and land on Ravenna!

Hunter would be the one who got up first, naturally, and threw Ravenna inside and went for a cover that garnered him a 1-2-2.75 count. He’d get Ravenna up for a running DDT, but the challenger would reverse it by driving Hunter into the corner! Ravenna would hit a few shoulder thrusts into the midsection of Hunter before backing up and ~ SHINING WIZARD from Hunter!! ~ The champ would surprise him and get the 1-2-3-WAIT-A-MINUTE-FOOT-ON-THE-ROPES! Hunter would be in disbelief as the fans breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Hunter would utilize a few soccer kicks against a mostly prone Ravenna before standing him up and putting him back down with a release dragon suplex!! ~ but Ravenna would roll up to his feet and rush forward for a discus big boot~ARTIKULO UNO! He’d go for the pin and get the 1-2-2.999999999! The fans would wail and scream as the two men laid flat on the canvas.

Ravenna would get to his feet first and grab Hunter by a handful of hair and… small package cradle by Hunter! 1-2-2.999999!! The surprise pin would seem to fire up both men as Hunter got up to his feet first and went for a spinning roundhouse kick ~ miss! ~ while Ravenna would attempt a spinning backfist ~ miss! ~ but Ravenna followed it up with a second backfist that hit and put Hunter on a knee ~ and then Ravenna nailed a buzzsaw kick! Hunter appeared stunned when Ravenna backed up and… basement ARTIKULO UNO! Ravena would hook the leg and go for the 1… 2… 3!

It seemed like all of Manila erupted as Ravenna fell to his knees and the referee handed him the MAX Jr. Heavyweight Championship. After Hunter passed the medical checkup, he walked over to Ravenna, patted the belt, and told him to wear it with the same respect he’d shown it for the last half-year. Ravenna nodded and returned to celebrating in the ring, holding up the flag of the Philippines as he stood on the second-rope to the cheers of the adoring fans.

  • J1 Summit - Final Chris Ravenna vs. Naoki Ojima

We join in progress as Ojima hits Ravenna with a high kick, then power slams him. A moonsault follows but only earns the youngster a two count. Ojima decides the best course of action is to go one step higher and delivers a moonsault from the top rope, but again it's two - although Ravenna gets his foot on the rope, he doesn't kick out. Ojima tries for his double wrist clutch knee, but Ravenna cradles backwards, driving Ojima into the top turnbuckle. Ravenna recovers, striking with a leaping neckbreaker that puts the young tiger down on the mat. He tries to follow up with a Nullifying Mauser shot kick, but Ojima falls back to avoid it - leaps to his feet and scores with a spinning back kick. Ravenna doubles over and turns away, Ojima grabs both arms in a double chickenwing and tries to Tiger suplex him... AND DOES! He tries to transition into a bridging double chickenwing, but the World's Jr. Champion manages to escape it unharmed. Ojima's youthfulness shows itself as frustration comes out, stomping Ravenna. Red Tiger Kid tells him to be calm, Ojima throws his hands up in response and Ravenna strikes with an uppercut that sends him stumbling away. Ravenna dashes in... MAUSER SHOT KICK!

He calls for the Ravenna Driver, pulling Ojima in between his legs and cradling him... but Ojima backdrops him! The youngster draws energy from the Osaka crowd and throws all of himself into a crossbody splash against the Filipino fighter in the corner. Ojima leaps onto the second rope as Ravenna slowly falls to a knee and crawls into the centre of the ring. Ojima sizes him up, beckoning him to come closer... he leaps off!

    TORNA-NO!

The DDT is thwarted! Ravenna shoves him off, then tries for a superkick. Ojima catches him and spins him around...

    WAIST HOLD!

    GERMAN SUP-NO!

    Ravenna lands on his feet!

    MAUSER SHO-NO! Ojima ducks...

    PELE KICK!

The Osaka crowd is loving it! Ojima leaps over the top rope to the apron, then leaps back up onto it - springing off with a missile dropkick that finds its mark! Ojima falls to the mat as Ravenna is flung into the corner by the momentum. The Emerald Tiger jumps onto the second rope, then wraps his legs around Ravenna's head...

    FRANKENS-

    NO!

    INVERTED TOMBSTONE BY RAVENNA!

    He rolls Ojima over!

    1...

    ...

    2...

    ...

    3!

After the bell, Red Tiger Kid came in to check on his beaten partner. Chris Ravenna was tended to by Shigeru Toyama, who helped him to his feet and backed him up to the ropes so he could stand on his own.
